"MEN WHO BELIEVED IN FREEDOM AND GOOD BOOZE WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES, FORGING THE BEDROCK OF THIS REPUBLIC, AND IN DOING SO, CREATED A NEW SPECIES OF MAN: THE AMERICAN. AMERICANS CONQUERED THE WESTERN FRONTIER. MEN OF PISS AND VINEGAR WHO TAMED THE WILD, BATTLED THE ELEMENTS, AND ESTABLISHED THE FIRST AMERICAN SALOONS. IT’S IN THIS FINE TRADITION THAT MEMBERS OF THE VETERAN COMMUNITY PRESENT TO YOU: LEADSLINGERS’ WHISKEY." Leadslingers Whiskey Web Page So this badass bottle of Rye was part of the vision of seven US Combat Veterans and it's a damn banger. Anyone that knows me knows I'm not a huge Rye guy; I'll take a bad rye before a good tequila, they're the least favorite of mine, whiskey-wise, but they're still good. This is an exception on the better side for me. Leadslingers Rye, for me, is up there with Larceny as far as how often i reach for it. I have a drink of this more often than a lot of the other stuff on my shelf. The usual Rye burn isn't as huge a deal in this one as most I've had, and the spices and oak on the nose and palate are perfect together.
Coming from a military family, as well as whiskey being the primary drink of choice in my family (along with really good and really shitty beer), I am happy to like this stuff as well as support what the company stands for. Military organizations helping veterans, Second Amendment support, and personal responsibility and leadership. Like the badass guys making this badass whiskey say; Be proud of who you are. Be bold. No Apologies. That statement itself is a great description of the whiskey. Hard-ass Rye, bold and well-noted with a crisp and unapologetic taste. Please Drink Responsibly. https://leadslingerswhiskey.com/ Image Credit: TotalWine.com
